"If we hope to change the world, we have to begin with the children."

United States

cystic_fibrosisOver 30,000 children in the U.S. are afflicted with cystic fibrosis (70,000 worldwide), the number one genetic killer of children in the world.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. A defective gene causes the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

SCF supports promising research in the area of gene and protein therapy which SCF believes will impact many diseases.

Please help SCF make cystic fibrosis the world’s first genetic disease to be cured.
