Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa where 33% of its population do not have access to safe water and 52% are without sanitation.
Infant mortality stands at 130 in 1,000, and 26,000 children under the age of five die every year from diarrheal diseases. Uganda is still recovering from civil war and conflicts which led to its economic collapse.
SCF constructed fresh water wells and related water delivery systems for indigent villagers who otherwise were compelled to walk many dangerous miles (at the risk of kidnapping and rape) only to obtain often insufficient and insanitary water. They now have fresh water.
Please help SCF provide safe and sanitary water by building more wells.
